Originally the offices of the Hafod Copperworks of Vivian & Sons, the building opened in 1863. When it was no longer required as office space, it then became a social club for the staff of I.C.I. Landore and then Yorkshire Imperial Metals until the works closed in 1980, when it then became Landore Social Club.
When the works closed, the I.C.I. Landore Works War Memorial, which recognises those workers who gave their lives in the Second World War, was relocated from its original position on the gable end of the Morfa rolling mill building, to inside the entrance of Landore Social Club, where it can still be seen today.
If you look closely at the map, which dates from 1879 you will be able to identify some of the buildings, including the works offices *, which have survived to the present day.
